If you grew up watching Dragon Ball Z and wished you could actually be Goku, this game’s got you covered. The second Legacy of Goku is way better than the first—you actually get to play as more than just Goku, which is a huge upgrade. Vegeta, Piccolo, even Gohan? Yeah, they’re all here, and they each handle differently. Vegeta’s fast but squishy, Piccolo’s got range, and Goku… well, he’s Goku.

The game follows the Android and Cell Sagas, so expect a lot of running around, charging up, and blasting fools with ki attacks. The sprites are surprisingly detailed for a GBA title, and the combat’s simple but satisfying—just mash buttons and watch enemies explode in true DBZ fashion. Some of the side quests are a grind, but hunting down Dragon Balls or helping random villagers feels oddly rewarding.

It’s not perfect—the camera’s a little janky in tight spaces, and good luck figuring out where to go without talking to every NPC twice. But if you ever wanted to relive the hype of Gohan going SSJ2 or Vegeta’s final explosion, this is the closest you’ll get on a handheld. Just don’t expect it to go easy on you.
