Dragon Ball Z: Taiketsu is one of those GBA fighters that’s fun for a weekend but doesn’t stick around much longer. You’ve got 15 characters—Goku, Vegeta, Broly, the usual suspects—and they all throw down with flashy ki blasts and super moves that look ripped straight from the anime. The combos feel satisfying when they land, especially when you charge up for those screen-filling ultimate attacks.
That said, it’s pretty barebones. No story mode, just arcade-style fights, and the AI isn’t exactly a genius. Linking up with a friend for versus matches helps, but even then, you’ll probably bounce off it after a few rounds. If you’re starving for portable DBZ action, it’ll do in a pinch, but there are definitely deeper fighters out there.
