Dragon Ball Z - Legendary Super Warriors is this weird little GBC gem where battles play out like a mix of card game and turn-based fighting. You pick attacks, blocks, or energy charges from a hand of cards—kinda like playing poker if poker involved Kamehamehas. The sprites are tiny but surprisingly detailed for a Game Boy Color game, and landing a perfect combo feels way more satisfying than it should.
At first, I thought the card system would be gimmicky, but it actually makes fights tense—you’re always second-guessing whether to go all-in or save energy for a big finisher. And yeah, the AI loves to spam dodges when you least expect it. If you’re into DBZ and don’t mind some old-school jank, it’s a fun twist on the usual button-mashing.
