Dragon Ball Z: Legendaere Superkaempfer is this weird little GBC card battler that somehow makes DBZ fights feel tactical and frantic at the same time. You start off picking your fighter—Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, the usual crew—and suddenly you're juggling card combos while mashing button sequences when it's your turn to attack. Mess up the timing and your Kamehameha fizzles pathetically.

The defense phase is where it gets sneaky—you've gotta predict whether the AI's gonna high, mid, or low attack you, like some bizarre rock-paper-scissors with ki blasts. At first I kept eating Cell's punches to the face, but once you learn enemy patterns, pulling off perfect blocks feels amazing. Later fights throw tag-team chaos at you, and good luck with Challenge Mode's random matchups—that Raditz fight still gives me nightmares.

Multiplayer's fun if you can find someone else with a copy and a link cable, though good luck convincing your friend to trade their rare Spirit Bomb card. It's janky, surprisingly deep, and absolutely packed with that classic DBZ melodrama.
