Dragon Ball - Advanced Adventure is one of those GBA gems that actually makes you feel like you're playing through early Dragon Ball, not just another generic fighter. You start off as kid Goku, running around smacking enemies with your power pole—which feels way more satisfying than it should—before unlocking classic moves like the Kamehameha.
What surprised me is how much variety there is. One minute you're doing side-scrolling beat-em-up sections, the next you're in these weird but fun mini-games (ever tried balancing on a log while Bulma throws rocks at you?). The sprite work nails that old-school Dragon Ball charm, and the music’s got that nostalgic GBA chiptune energy.
It’s not perfect—some of the platforming bits can be janky—but for a portable Dragon Ball game, it’s way more ambitious than you’d expect.
