Okay, so Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat on GBA is basically what happens when someone took the book’s weirdly wonderful art style and turned it into a surprisingly solid little platformer. You play as the Cat (obviously), bouncing around these Seussian levels with his umbrella, knocking over vases, and causing general mayhem—just like in the story.
The controls are simple—jump, dash, maybe bonk an enemy or two—but the real charm is how they nailed the look. Everything’s got that wobbly, hand-drawn feel, like you’re playing inside one of the book’s pages. And yeah, the music’s got that playful, slightly off-kilter vibe too.
It’s not super hard, but there’s enough hidden stuff and mini-games to keep it interesting. If you ever wanted to actually be the Cat wreaking havoc in that poor kid’s house, this is as close as you’ll get. Just don’t blame me when you start humming the theme music for days.
