I picked up Donald Duck: Goin' Quackers for my Game Boy Color back in 2000, a time when handhelds were full of these colorful platformers. Ubisoft published it, and it was one of several Disney titles that tried to capture that cartoon energy on the small screen. It felt very much of its era, a straightforward adventure you could take with you.

You control Donald Duck through a series of side scrolling levels, moving screen by screen. The main goal is to rescue Daisy Duck, which involves running, jumping, and using a spin attack to defeat enemies like bees and spiders. You also find and use temporary power ups, such as a pogo stick for bouncing on foes or a rocket barrel for flying sections. The pacing is fairly quick, and the difficulty is manageable, though some jumps require precise timing. It feels like a brisk, cartoonish dash from start to finish.
