Doki X Doki Sasete!! (japan) Game

Doki X Doki Sasete!! is one of those weird, charming Game Boy Color games that never left Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this quirky rhythm-meets-dating-sim vibe. You’re basically trying to impress a girl by nailing button presses in time with music, and the whole thing feels like a fever dream of late-90s anime aesthetics. The controls are simple, but the timing’s surprisingly tight—mess up too much, and she’ll straight-up ignore you.
First time I played, I thought it’d be a cakewalk, but those later stages get brutal. The music’s catchy in that old-school chiptune way, and the pixel art’s full of exaggerated expressions that make failing almost fun. If you’re into obscure rhythm games or just want something different, this one’s a neat little time capsule.
