About Dogz (u)(trashman)
Dogz came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, published by Ubisoft. It was part of that wave of virtual pet games you could carry in your pocket, a simpler alternative to the more complex RPGs and platformers on the system. You start by picking out a puppy from a few different breeds, bringing it home to your virtual room.
You control a cursor to interact with everything. Your main job is to keep your dog happy and healthy by feeding it, giving it water, and cleaning up after it makes a mess. You can buy toys and accessories from a shop using points earned through play, and then use those toys to play fetch or tug-of-war. The dog's needs and mood change over time, so you check on it regularly. The pacing is slow and repetitive, focused on daily care rather than any urgent goals. It feels like a quiet, low-stakes responsibility, a small companion to check in on now and then.
