Remember that old-school GBA racer with Herbie the Love Bug? Yeah, the one where you could actually drift around corners like a tiny, sentient VW Beetle. It's got that classic arcade feel—short tracks, rubber-banding AI that keeps things just frustrating enough, and power-ups that actually make sense for a car with a personality (like the turbo that makes Herbie's headlights go all determined).
First race in, you're sliding through a beachside course with way more speed than a Beetle should have, dodging traffic cones and rival racers. The handling's a little floaty at first, but once you get used to tapping the shoulder button for mini-boosts, it clicks. Also, the pixel art holds up—Herbie's little angry-eyes when you scrape a wall are weirdly charming.
Definitely one of those licensed games that didn't have to go as hard as it did.
