Disney's Brother Bear on the GBA is one of those licensed platformers that's way better than it had any right to be. You play as Kenai, the guy who gets turned into a bear, and the levels actually feel like they're ripped straight from the movie—running through forests, sliding down icy slopes, even that weird spirit world bit. The controls are surprisingly tight for a Disney tie-in, and the sprite work nails that early 2000s Disney charm.
What surprised me was how much variety they packed in. One minute you're doing basic jumps over gaps, next thing you know you're tossing fish at wolves or riding currents in underground rivers. The bear transformation mechanic actually changes how you interact with the environment, which was a nice touch. And yeah, it's definitely aimed at kids, but there's just enough challenge to keep it from feeling mindless.
If you grew up with the movie or just dig solid GBA platformers, this one's a nostalgia trip worth firing up.
