About Disney Sports : Motocross
Disney Sports: Motocross came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed and published by Konami. It was part of a small wave of Disney branded sports titles on the handheld, arriving when licensed games were a common sight on the system. This one put Mickey, Donald, and the rest of the crew on dirt bikes.
You pick a Disney character and race them across side scrolling motocross tracks. The main goal is straightforward: finish first in a series of cups. You control your rider's speed and perform tricks off jumps to fill a boost meter; landing the tricks successfully gives you a temporary speed burst. The tracks are filled with obstacles like mud puddles that slow you down and ramps that send you flying. The racing is fast and the computer opponents are competitive, making it a challenge to stay in front. It feels like a chaotic, cartoon scramble where a well timed trick can turn a race around.
