About Disney Sports Motocross (e)(surplus)
I picked up Disney Sports Motocross for the Game Boy Advance back in 2002. It was a Konami game, which was a bit of a surprise since you usually expect Disney titles from other publishers. During that era, the GBA was full of licensed games trying to capture the portable racing crowd, and this one landed right in the middle of that trend.
You control a Disney character like Mickey or Goofy on a motocross bike. The main goal is straightforward: win races across various themed tracks. You pull off stunts in the air by pressing the shoulder buttons, which builds up a turbo boost you can activate on the ground. The tracks are filled with jumps and obstacles, and you have to manage your landings to avoid crashing. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty can spike on later courses where a single mistake costs you the lead. It feels like a simple, arcade-style racer that is easy to pick up but demands some practice to master completely.
