Disney Sports: Football came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, published by Konami. It was part of a small wave of Disney sports titles trying to carve out a space on the handheld, a time when you'd see all sorts of familiar characters showing up in unexpected genres. This one put Mickey, Donald, and the rest of the gang on the pitch for some arcade-style soccer.

You control a team of Disney characters, passing and shooting to score goals against another cartoon squad. The main objective is straightforward: win the match. A couple of mechanics stand out. Each character has a unique special shot, activated by holding the shoot button to charge a meter; Goofy might send the ball spinning wildly, while Donald unleashes a powerful blast. You can also perform sliding tackles to dispossess opponents, though mistiming one earns you a foul. The pacing is fast, with matches feeling hectic and a bit chaotic, especially when the ball pinballs between characters in a crowded penalty area. It feels like a simplified, frantic version of soccer where pulling off a special move provides a quick burst of satisfaction.
