About Disney Sports Football (u)(gbatemp)
Disney Sports Football came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, a time when the handheld was full of licensed titles trying new things. Konami published it, putting a cartoon spin on the sport. It was one of several Disney Sports games, an attempt to blend familiar characters with athletic competition.
You control a team of Disney characters, like Mickey or Goofy, in matches that feel fast and simplified. The main goal is to score more goals than the opposing team. You pass the ball between players, sprint down the field, and shoot when you see an opening. Special moves, activated by filling a meter, let you perform powerful shots or tackles that can turn the game around. The pacing is quick, with matches that don't drag on, though the computer can put up a decent challenge on higher settings. It feels like a light, arcade-style version of football where a lucky special move can completely shift the momentum.
