About Disney Sports Basketball (j)(mugs)
Konami released Disney Sports Basketball for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, a time when handhelds were full of licensed titles trying to capture a younger audience. It was not a major release, but it stood out for putting Mickey Mouse and his friends on the court.
You control a team of Disney characters, passing and shooting to outscore the opposing team. The main objective is to win matches across different cups and tournaments. Signature mechanics include using a special meter to perform character-specific super shots that are harder to block, and executing simple dribble moves to get past defenders. The pacing is fast, with matches that feel quick and arcade-like, though the computer can put up a decent challenge on higher settings. It feels like a lighthearted pick-up game with characters you recognize from cartoons.
