About Digimon Battle Spirit (u)(noitami)
Digimon Battle Spirit came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, a time when the handheld was full of games based on popular anime. It was published by Bandai, the company behind the Digimon franchise itself. This was just another one of those portable titles you'd pick up if you were already a fan of the show.
You control a single Digimon, running through side scrolling stages to battle an opponent. The main goal is to collect orbs scattered across the screen before your rival does. Your character has a basic attack to stun the other Digimon, but the real focus is grabbing the orbs. You can also pick up power ups that change your attack or temporarily make you invincible. The matches are fast and a bit chaotic, since you are both scrambling for the same items on a single screen. It feels like a quick, competitive scramble against the clock.
