Digimon Battle Spirit 2 is one of those GBA games that somehow turns a fighting game into a weirdly fun platformer. You pick your favorite Digimon—Veemon, Guilmon, whoever—and then it’s basically a chaotic brawl across floating stages with power-ups and hazards everywhere. It’s not super deep, but the sprite work is great, and matches are fast enough that you can burn through a few rounds without realizing it.
Honestly, the best part is just seeing all the Digimon from the anime actually fight like they should. Some of the evolutions feel a little unbalanced (looking at you, WarGreymon), but that almost adds to the charm. If you ever wanted to pit Agumon against Renamon in a side-scrolling punchfest, this is your game.
