Dexter's Laboratory on Game Boy Color is exactly what you'd hope for—a chaotic little adventure that feels like playing through an episode of the show. You start off in Dexter's lab (obviously), dodging Dee Dee's wrecking-ball energy while trying to solve puzzles with his weird inventions. The pixel art nails the cartoon's style, right down to Dexter's oversized glasses and Dee Dee's permanently clueless grin.
At first, the controls take a second to get used to—some of Dexter's gadgets feel a little janky, but in a way that kinda fits his "mad scientist" vibe. The levels mix platforming with puzzle-solving, like using shrink rays to sneak past guards or rewiring security systems. And yeah, Dee Dee shows up at the worst possible moments to ruin everything, just like in the show.
It's short, but packed with that same manic energy the cartoon had. If you grew up watching Dexter, this is pure nostalgia in cartridge form.
