Desert Strike Advance came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Fluid Studios and published by EA. You pilot an Apache helicopter through a series of missions in hostile territory. Your main job is to complete objectives like rescuing POWs, destroying specific buildings, and gathering intelligence, all while managing your fuel and ammunition. The screen scrolls in all directions as you fly, and you use a targeting reticle to fire missiles and your chain gun at enemy tanks, soldiers, and installations. The missions are open, letting you choose the order you tackle targets, but the constant resource drain and enemy fire create a steady tension. It feels like a careful balance between aggressive action and strategic planning just to survive each sortie.
