Densha De Go! 2 on Game Boy Color is one of those weirdly satisfying train sims that shouldn’t work as well as it does. You’re basically a train conductor, but instead of just watching scenery roll by, you’re managing speed, stops, and schedules—and somehow, it’s weirdly tense when you’re running behind.
The pixelated trains and chunky GBC graphics give it this cozy, retro feel, like playing with toy trains but with actual stakes. The routes feel surprisingly real, and nailing a perfect stop at a station is way more rewarding than it has any right to be. Not gonna lie, I messed up the timing a lot at first—those passenger complaints pile up fast.
If you’re into sims or just love trains, this one’s a neat little time capsule. It’s not flashy, but there’s something oddly zen about getting into the rhythm of it. Just don’t blame me when you start muttering "next stop, Shinjuku" under your breath.
