Dan Doh!! is one of those weird little GBA sports games that somehow sticks with you. It’s a golf RPG—yeah, you read that right—where you play as this kid named Dan who’s trying to become a pro golfer. The mechanics are simple at first (just swing timing and power), but then it throws in these wild special shots and rival matches that actually make golf feel intense.
First 10 minutes? You’re smacking balls into the distance, unlocking weirdly satisfying power-ups like the "Tornado Shot" (exactly what it sounds like), and getting roped into dramatic golf rivalries. The sprite work’s charming, and the courses get surprisingly creative—one minute you’re on a normal green, the next you’re putting around giant mushrooms or dodging sand traps shaped like dinosaurs. It’s Japanese-only, but menus are easy enough to fumble through.
If you’ve ever wanted a golf game with more personality than a PGA tour sim, this is it. Just don’t blame me when you’re three hours deep trying to beat some smug rival’s score.
