D.R.A.G.O.N. Force is a turn-based tactical game released in 1989 for the MS-DOS platform. It was published by Interstel Corporation. The game presents its missions from a bird's-eye view perspective, allowing players to oversee the battlefield and command a squad of soldiers in a series of tactical engagements.

Players control a team of seven soldiers, selected from a roster of fourteen available operatives. Each soldier possesses unique skill ratings across various disciplines, including medicine, machine gun operation, anti-tank warfare, scouting, sharpshooting, demolition, and close combat. Before deploying on a mission, players must equip their chosen squad from an extensive arsenal, matching weapons and gear to each soldier's specific proficiencies to form a balanced team prepared for diverse combat scenarios. The core gameplay revolves around issuing orders, such as movement, firing, or special actions, for all units during a planning phase; these commands are then executed simultaneously alongside the enemy's actions.

The game utilizes a dual-map system, featuring a strategic overview of the entire mission area and a closer tactical view for detailed unit management. Combat is a central system, with three primary firing options: direct shots at enemies, targeting specific map coordinates, and opportunity fire that automatically triggers when enemies move through a unit's line of sight. Environmental elements like buildings and hedges provide cover and directly influence visibility and firing lines, adding a layer of positional strategy to each encounter. Progression is mission-based, with success dependent on effective squad composition, strategic equipment allocation, and careful execution of turn-based plans.
