CyberTiger came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, a time when handheld golf games were starting to get more ambitious. Electronic Arts published it, and it was one of the more visually detailed sports titles on the system. It fit right in with other portable offerings that tried to capture a console-like feel.

You control a golfer from an overhead perspective, aiming to complete 18-hole courses. The main objective is straightforward: get the ball in the hole in as few strokes as possible. Signature mechanics include a power meter for swing timing and the ability to apply spin to the ball after you hit it, which lets you curve shots around obstacles. You also manage your golfer's stamina, which affects shot power and accuracy. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the later courses present a real challenge with narrow fairways and tricky greens. It feels satisfying to land a perfect shot after carefully accounting for the wind and terrain.
