About Custom Robo Gx (j)(eurasia)
Custom Robo GX was a Japan and Eurasia exclusive release for the Game Boy Advance, developed by Noise and published by Nintendo. It arrived during a period when the GBA library was diversifying, offering a portable take on the series' established formula of robot battling.
You control a small robot from a top-down perspective, navigating interconnected screens to find opponents and progress. The main objective is to battle other robos in small arenas, using a combination of guns, bombs, and special pods you collect and equip. A signature mechanic is the Holosseum, where you test your custom builds in one-on-one fights. Another is the extensive customization system, letting you swap out parts for your robo's legs, gun, and other gear to alter its performance. The pacing is brisk, moving you from exploration to combat quickly, and the difficulty can spike during certain boss encounters. It feels like a compact, tactical brawler where your success hinges on the loadout you assemble.
