Curse of the Azure Bonds is a fantasy role-playing game released for MS-DOS in 1989. It was developed and published by Strategic Simulations, Inc. The game is a direct sequel to Pool of Radiance and continues the story of a party of adventurers in the Forgotten Realms setting.

The player controls a custom party of up to six characters, created using Advanced Dungeons and Dragons rules. Character creation includes the four core classes from the previous game, as well as two new options: the Paladin and the Ranger. The narrative begins with the party being ambushed and cursed with five magical azure bonds after leaving the town of Tilverton. The primary objective is to discover the source of these dangerous magical markings and find a way to remove the curse, which can unpredictably seize control of the characters.

Gameplay is divided between exploration and tactical combat. The player explores towns, dungeons, and wilderness areas from a first-person perspective in pseudo three-dimensional environments. An overworld map is used for rapid travel between known locations. Combat transitions to a separate, top-down tactical screen where the player issues turn-based commands to each party member. Encounters can be randomly triggered or scripted as part of the story. Characters can move freely across the grid-based battlefield to engage enemies, cast spells, or use special abilities.
