About Croc (usa, Europe)
Croc for the Game Boy Color came out in 2000, developed by Argonaut Games. It was part of that wave of 3D platformers adapted for the handheld, trying to capture some of that console adventure feel on a smaller screen.
You control Croc, a small crocodile, through a series of themed islands. Your main goal is to rescue the Gobbos, little furry creatures scattered across the levels. You explore screen by screen, stomping on enemies and tail-whipping crates to find colored gems and crystals. The levels are built around collecting these gems and locating keys to unlock new areas, with some light puzzle solving mixed in. The pacing is deliberate, and the isometric perspective can make some jumps tricky to judge. It feels like a slow, methodical hunt for collectibles in a colorful world.
