Crazy Taxi: Catch A Ride came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, published by THQ. It was part of that wave of arcade ports trying to fit a big screen experience onto the small, portable system. You got a version of the chaotic driving game right in your pocket, which felt pretty novel at the time.
You control a cab driver in an open city, picking up passengers and rushing them to their destinations before the timer runs out. The main objective is to earn as much money as possible within a single time limit. Signature mechanics include the frantic drifting around corners to maintain speed and the risky, rewarding near-misses with traffic that boost your fare multiplier. The pacing is relentless; you are constantly scanning for the next customer while navigating through dense traffic. It feels like a controlled demolition derby where every second counts.
