Crash Nitro Kart on GBA is basically what happens when you take the chaos of Crash Bandicoot and cram it into a tiny racing cartridge. You start off picking between Crash, Coco, or one of the other weirdos from the series—I always went with Dingodile because, well, flamethrower arms.
The tracks are wild, with shortcuts hidden behind breakable walls and hazards that’ll send you spinning if you’re not careful. The first time I played, I accidentally boosted straight into a nitro crate and exploded mid-air. Classic Crash moment. Power-ups feel unbalanced in the best way—landing a homing missile just before the finish line never gets old.
It’s not the prettiest racer on the GBA, but the controls are tight, and the drift mechanic actually works once you get the hang of it. Just don’t expect to win against Emperor Velo’s goons on your first try. This game cheats.
