Crash Bandicoot XS is basically a pocket-sized version of the classic PS1 platforming chaos, but for the GBA. You’re still running, spinning, and jumping over pits—just now on a tiny screen. The whole "Earth getting shrunk" plot is just an excuse to cram Crash into bite-sized levels, but honestly, it works.
First thing you’ll notice? It’s way faster than you’d expect for a handheld port. The controls are tight, though the GBA’s buttons make the slide-jump combo feel a little awkward at first. Some of the later levels get brutal—like, "throw-your-GBA-across-the-room" brutal—but that’s classic Crash for you.
If you miss the old-school vibe but want something to play on the go, this one’s a solid pick. Just don’t blame me when you’re stuck on the jetboard section for an hour.
