I picked up Crash Bandicoot Bakusou! Nitro Kart for the Game Boy Advance back when it was new. It was developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Konami, which made sense for a kart racer on that handheld. The GBA had a lot of these kinds of games, trying to capture the feel of console racers in your pocket, and this was one of the attempts to bring Crash into that mix.

You control Crash or other characters from the series, racing on tracks filled with obstacles and shortcuts. The main goal is straightforward: finish first. You collect Wumpa Fruit to fill a power meter, which lets you use a temporary speed boost. There are also weapon crates scattered around; hitting them gives you an item like a TNT box or a homing missile to disrupt other racers. The tracks are tight and the controls take a moment to get used to, making it a challenging game where you often have to memorize the layout to avoid crashing. It feels like a frantic, compact version of a console kart racer, condensed for quick sessions on the go.
