Command Master (japan) Game

Command Master is one of those obscure Japan-only Game Boy Color titles that slipped under most people's radars. It's got that classic late-90s GBC aesthetic—bright colors, chunky sprites, and that particular crunchy sound effect quality only early handheld games seem to nail.
You're basically commanding little units in turn-based skirmishes, moving them around grid maps that feel just big enough to be interesting without dragging. The menus are all in Japanese, but after fumbling through the first couple battles, you start recognizing the attack and movement icons by sheer repetition. There's something oddly satisfying about watching your tiny knights and archers clash, even if you're not entirely sure what half the status effects do.
It's not the deepest strategy game out there, but there's charm in its simplicity. The music's got that peppy, slightly tinny GBC vibe that either drives you nuts or gets stuck in your head for days. If you're into digging up forgotten portable gems, this one's a neat little time capsule.
