Columns Crown came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, published by Sega. It was a time when the GBA library was full of puzzle games, and this one was a direct follow up to the original Columns. You are essentially picking up where that game left off, continuing the series on a handheld that was perfect for quick sessions.

You control the flow of colored gems from the top of the screen, rotating and dropping them to form matches of three or more in a row. The main goal is to clear the board screen by screen, retrieving the jewels of Princess Dazzle's crown. Two mechanics define the play: the ability to swap any two adjacent gems on the board, not just the falling ones, and special crown jewels that clear entire rows or columns when matched. The pace is methodical, but the difficulty ramps up as the board gets more crowded. It feels like a thoughtful, almost meditative challenge where you are constantly planning several moves ahead.
