Cocoto: Kart Racer came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed by Neko Entertainment. It was part of that wave of kart racers that tried to capture some of the Mario Kart magic on handhelds. The game features a cast of characters from the Cocoto universe, which Neko had used in other titles, so it felt familiar if you had played their earlier platformers or shooters.

You pick a character and race on tracks filled with obstacles and power-ups. The main goal is straightforward: finish first. You drift around corners to get a temporary speed boost, and you collect items to attack other racers or defend yourself. The tracks are split into distinct sections, which gives the racing a segmented, almost lap-like feel even on point-to-point courses. The difficulty can be unforgiving, with computer opponents that rarely make mistakes. Despite the challenge, the controls are responsive, making it satisfying when you finally nail a perfect drift through a tight series of turns.
