Classic NES Series: Excitebike on GBA is pure old-school racing—no frills, just you, a dirt bike, and some seriously unforgiving jumps. The controls are simple (hold B to go faster, obviously), but the tracks get brutal fast. One bad landing and you’re eating dirt while the AI bikes zip past.
What’s cool is how much strategy sneaks in. Your engine overheats if you gun it nonstop, so you gotta ease off at the right moments. And the track editor? Spent way too many hours as a kid building ridiculous ramps just to faceplant immediately after. The pixel art holds up, and that little victory fanfare when you win? Still satisfying.
It’s not deep by today’s standards, but there’s something about the way it nails that arcade-y “just one more try” feeling. You’ll either love it or rage-quit by lap two.
