Classic Bubble Bobble came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, a time when the handheld was full of arcade revivals. Taito, the original creator, handled this release, bringing their bubble-blowing dinosaurs to the small screen with a familiar look and feel.

You control one of two little dinosaurs, Bub or Bob, tasked with clearing each single-screen room of enemies. The main goal is to trap every enemy in bubbles and then pop them. Your primary actions are jumping and shooting bubbles; you can also collect power-ups that change your bubble's properties or give you special abilities like a lightning attack. The game progresses screen by screen, with a timer adding pressure, and the difficulty gradually increases as you encounter more complex enemy patterns. It feels light and cheerful, but demands quick thinking and precise jumps to survive.
