You don't control a character directly; instead, you place directional arrows on a grid to guide a stream of mice, the ChuChus, safely to their rocket while avoiding the prowling KapuKapu cats. The main objective is to clear each single-screen puzzle by getting a set number of mice home. The signature mechanics are all about this tile-based pathfinding: you lay down arrows to create routes, place traps like bombs to remove cats blocking the way, and sometimes use special items that affect all the characters on screen. The pacing is frantic, especially in later stages where you have to think several steps ahead as mice and cats move simultaneously.
