About Chu Chu Rocket! (e)(independent)
Chu Chu Rocket! came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega. It was part of that early wave of GBA games that focused on quick, clever gameplay you could pick up anywhere.
You don't control the little ChuChus directly. Instead, you place arrows on a grid to guide them safely to their rocket, while also laying down traps to stop the KapuKapu cats from eating them. The main objective is to get a required number of mice to the exit on each single-screen stage. The signature mechanics are this tile-based path planning and the constant threat of the prowling cats. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty ramps up significantly as new obstacles and faster enemies are introduced. It feels like a frantic, satisfying test of your ability to think two steps ahead of chaos.
