Choro Q on Game Boy Color is one of those weird little gems that makes retro gaming so fun. You get these tiny, super-deformed cars that you can trick out with all sorts of parts—engines, tires, even goofy cosmetic stuff. At first it feels like a basic racer, but then you realize half the fun is just seeing how ridiculous you can make your car look before it becomes undrivable.
The handling takes some getting used to—everything’s super floaty, like your car’s made of rubber—but once it clicks, you’ll be sliding around corners like a pro. There’s something oddly satisfying about watching your tiny monstrosity bounce off walls at 90 mph. Definitely a game that’s more about charm than precision.
If you’re into obscure GBC racers or just love customizing stuff way more than you should, this one’s a blast. Just don’t expect Forza.
