About Chess-master
Chess-Master came out for the Game Boy Color in 2000, published by Nintendo. It was one of the many puzzle and strategy titles that filled the handheld's library, a straightforward chess game you could carry in your pocket. There was no grand story or elaborate setting; it was just you and the chessboard, a portable challenge for quiet moments.
You control the standard chess pieces, moving them across the board to checkmate your opponent's king. The game lets you play against the computer at various difficulty levels or against another person with a link cable. You can also set up specific board positions to practice certain tactics or try to solve pre-made chess puzzles. The pacing is entirely your own, though the computer opponent can become quite challenging on the higher settings. It feels like having a patient, relentless chess partner always ready for a game.
