About Chee-chai Alien
Chee-Chai Alien was a Japan only release for the Game Boy Color in 2000, developed by KID. It came out during a time when the handheld was full of experimental puzzle games, and this one fits right into that category. You don't see many people talking about it, but it has its own quiet spot in the platform's library.
You control a small, round alien whose main goal is to rescue its scattered offspring from each stage. The core of the game is a block pushing puzzle mechanic; you navigate single screen rooms, moving colored blocks to create paths or activate switches. A key feature is the ability to change the color of certain blocks you push, which directly affects which platforms are solid and can be walked on. This color switching adds a significant layer of planning to every move. The puzzles start simple but quickly demand careful foresight, making progression feel deliberate and sometimes quite challenging. It feels like a slow, thoughtful test of your spatial reasoning as you methodically clear each stage to reunite the alien family.
