If you grew up loving the book or the movie, this GBA game nails the weird, sugary chaos of Willy Wonka’s factory. You start as Charlie, running through these bright, slightly janky 2D levels—past rivers of chocolate, rooms where everything’s edible, and Oompa-Loompas who sing (badly) when you mess up. The puzzles are simple but fun, like redirecting candy conveyor belts or dodging Veruca Salt’s bratty tantrums.
It’s not perfect—some of the platforming feels stiff, and Augustus Gloop’s level is just him falling into chocolate over and over—but there’s something charming about how it leans into the story’s weirdness. The music’s got that off-key carnival vibe, too. Definitely one for nostalgia fans.
