About Cartoon Network - Speedway (u)(venom)
Cartoon Network Speedway came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, a time when portable kart racers were everywhere. It was published by Majesco, and it let you race as characters from shows like Dexter's Laboratory and The Powerpuff Girls. This was just one of many licensed games trying to capture the fun of Mario Kart on the small screen.
You pick a Cartoon Network character and drive through tracks filled with obstacles and shortcuts. The main goal is to finish first in a cup series, using items you pick up to attack rivals or defend yourself. Two key mechanics are the drift boost, where you hold a button to slide around corners and get a speed burst, and the character specific special moves that charge up over time. The racing is fast and the computer opponents can be aggressive, making it a challenge to stay in front. It feels like a chaotic, colorful scramble from start to finish.
