Carmageddon on Game Boy Color is absolute, unhinged chaos—and I mean that in the best way. You’re not just racing; you’re plowing through pedestrians, smashing into rival cars, and basically causing as much destruction as possible before the timer runs out. The controls are janky in that classic GBC way, but once you get the hang of drifting into a crowd of pixelated bystanders, it’s weirdly satisfying.
There’s something hilarious about how over-the-top it is—like, yeah, you could finish the race properly, but why would you when you can just wreck everything instead? The graphics are rough (obviously), but the sheer audacity of the gameplay makes up for it. Just don’t expect it to run smoothly—this is pure, messy, late-’90s handheld carnage.
If you’ve got nostalgia for games that didn’t care about being polite, this one’s a riot.
