Okay, so Buzz Lightyear of Star Command on Game Boy Color is basically what you'd expect from a late-90s Disney platformer—bright colors, simple but solid controls, and that weirdly satisfying chiptune version of the theme song. You jump around as Buzz, blasting Zurg's robots with your laser (which feels way more powerful than it should for a toy, honestly), and occasionally team up with other rangers for some basic puzzle-solving.
The levels are short but surprisingly varied—one minute you're dodging lava pits on a volcanic planet, the next you're floating in zero-G trying not to get wrecked by space mines. It nails the Saturday-morning-cartoon vibe, though don't expect anything too deep. That said, the sprite work is charming, especially for a GBC game, and Zurg's dialogue bubbles are unintentionally hilarious ("I shall now destroy you… with SCIENCE!").
If you grew up with the show or just miss when licensed games were uncomplicated fun, this one's a solid time capsule. Just don't go in expecting Toy Story 2: The Game levels of polish.
