I remember playing the Flash Classic version of Burger Time online years ago. It was originally developed by Data East for arcades, but the Flash port brought it to browsers during that era when you could find simple, quick games to play between tasks. The game fit right in with other early platformers, focusing on a single clear goal without much story.

You control Chef Peter Pepper, a tiny cook in a white uniform, across several multi-leveled screens. Your job is to build burgers by walking over each ingredient (the bun, lettuce, patty, and so on) laid out across the platforms. As you step on them, they drop down one level, and you must often maneuver to make each ingredient fall completely to the plate below. The main challenge comes from enemy food characters like Mr. Hot Dog and Mr. Egg, who chase you relentlessly. You can't attack them directly, but you can temporarily stun them by dropping an ingredient on their heads. Another key move is using your pepper shaker to briefly make them sneeze, giving you a chance to slip past. The game moves quickly, and the levels get progressively more crowded, demanding careful timing and route planning. It feels tense but satisfying when you complete a burger just as the enemies close in.
