About Bubble Bobble - Old & New (j)(eurasia)
Bubble Bobble: Old & New came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, a Taito release that brought the arcade classic to a handheld screen. It was part of that wave of early 2000s ports, letting you carry the bubble-blowing action in your pocket.
You control one of the little dinosaurs, Bub or Bob, and your main goal is to clear each single-screen level of enemies. You do this by trapping them in bubbles you blow, then popping the bubbles to defeat them. The game progresses screen by screen, and you collect fruit and other items for points while avoiding contact with the monsters. The pacing is quick, and the difficulty can spike on later levels, demanding precise jumps and timing. It feels like a cheerful, frantic puzzle-action mix.
