Bubble Bobble - Old & New on the GBA is basically the classic arcade bubble-blowing dinosaur action, but with a few tweaks. You still play as Bub or Bob, trapping enemies in bubbles and popping them for points, but this version mixes the original levels with some new ones—and honestly, the new stages throw in a few surprises that keep you on your toes.
The controls feel tight, which is good because later levels get chaotic fast. At first, it’s just bouncing around and trapping easy enemies, but before long you’re dodging projectiles and timing bubble jumps to reach hidden fruit. The music’s still that same cheerful, slightly hypnotic tune, though I swear it speeds up when things get intense.
If you’ve played the original, it’s nostalgic but different enough to feel fresh. If you haven’t, it’s a great way to see why this series stuck around for so long.
