Boktai is one of those weird, brilliant GBA gems that never got enough love. You play as Django, a vampire hunter who literally uses sunlight as a weapon—and here's the kicker: your cartridge has a light sensor, so you actually have to play in real sunlight to charge your attacks. Indoors at night? Good luck, you're basically swinging a wet noodle.
The mix of stealth, action, and that gimmicky-but-fun solar gimmick makes it feel like a top-down Metal Gear with vampires. The first time you realize you need to angle your GBA toward a window to power up, it's either the dumbest or most genius thing you've ever seen. (Pro tip: cloudy days are the worst.)
Konami nailed the atmosphere too—desert towns feel baked in heat, and the soundtrack has this lonely, sun-bleached vibe. Just don't expect to binge it in one sitting unless you've got a really sunny balcony.
