Boboboubo Boubobo: Ougi 87.5 Bakuretsu Hanage Shinken came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2004, developed by Eighting and published by Hudson Soft. You control Bobobo, a man whose primary weapon is his own nose hair, which he plucks and uses to whip, grab, and pummel enemies. The main objective is to fight through side scrolling stages, clearing out waves of the bald-headed Maruhage Empire who are trying to steal everyone's hair. Signature mechanics include using your Hanage Shinken techniques, which are special attacks mapped to button combinations, and a parry system where you must input a specific command to counter enemy moves. The pacing is fast and chaotic, with a difficulty that spikes unexpectedly, demanding quick reflexes to dodge and counterattack. Playing it feels like being thrown into a cartoon where the rules of physics and common sense have been completely abandoned.
